US RaceTronics Arrives at Watkins Glen with Four-Car Lineup
Watkins Glen, New York (Wednesday, June 26, 2019) – US RaceTronics is proud to have 16-year-old Steven Aghakhani joining their Lamborghini Super Trofeo program starting with this weekend’s rounds at Watkins Glen International. The Southern California based team will now be running entries in each of the four Lamborghini Super Trofeo classes for the remainder of the season. The team also got some extremely exciting news during the break between rounds when it was announced that both Patrick Liddy and Jacob Eidson were selected for the Lamborghini Young Drivers Program. Only two North American drivers were selected and US RaceTronics is proud to have both of them on their team. While both are excited and grateful to Lamborghini for the honor, their focus right now is on this weekend’s racing.
Damon Ockey and Jacob Eidson come into the weekend with the points lead in the ProAm class. as well as a new look, in the No. 09 Lamborghini of Vancouver and are looking to extend that with a couple more wins. The pair won their class in both races of the opening rounds of the season and took home an impressive third-place overall in Round 2. Ockey made the jump from AM this season and is sharing driving duties for the first time in his LST career. He’s incredibly happy to have Eidson as his co-driver.
Patrick Liddy and Bryce Miller return in the No.34 Lamborghini of Beverly Hills. The PRO duo finished second in Round 2 at Barber Motorsports Park, but are confident that they’ll be able to make it to the top step of the podium this weekend. The 3.4 mile, 11-turn Road Course is fast and smooth and suits both drivers’ driving styles.
Steven Aghakhani joins the team in the No. 6 Lamborghini of Beverly Hills and will compete in the AM class. This will be Aghakhani’s first Lamborghini Super Trofeo start and he’s excited about the challenge ahead. Aghakhani will be driving solo in this, his rookie, season and is excited to have the opportunity to compete against such a great field of very competitive drivers.
Ron Atapattu returns to LB Cup competition in the re-designed No. 24 Elephantea Lamborghini of San Diego. Atapattu has never raced at Watkins Glen International before, but is looking forward to the challenge of learning the nuances of the famed track. He and Aghakhani are both seeking their first podiums of the young LST season.
Practice kicks of the weekend tomorrow, Thursday, June 27, 2019 followed by qualifying and Round 3 on Friday, June 28, 2019. Round 4 of the 2019 LSTNA season goes green Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10:25 a.m. Eastern Time.
